DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
My work in design + strategic communications is part of a longstanding engagement with the intersections of arts, culture, and civics. I approach digital platforms not just as tools for media circulation, but as intermedial sites of translation and transformation where knowledge production becomes collective wisdom: community + coalition building, amplifying overlooked stories, and inspiring action towards mutual aid and systemic change.
I am committed to producing values-driven content that not only reflects our communities but also helps imagine futures shaped by them.
Every campaign, project, or strategy begins with questions that ground the work in purpose:

GUIDING PRINCIPLES
What are Our Values?
organize, educate, transform • ethical stewardship • unearthing overlooked stories • solidarity economies • arts advocacy • future = love and care • access, equity, belonging • knowledge and resource exchange •
How do we translate knowledge production ︎︎︎
︎︎︎ ...into collective wisdom
that can be accessed and shared? ︎︎︎
︎︎︎
How do we tell more dignified stories?
community-led authorship • multilingual storytelling • counter-archives • participatory media • narrative sovereignty • decentering the outside gazes • media in the everyday life • decolonizing histories • critical fabulations • generational transmission • oral literature •
︎︎︎
How do we reckon with the global entanglements of people (communities) + ecologies (urban / natural)?
︎︎︎
Why does it matter and why now?

Community Highlights

Last year, the ICA began distributing art activity kits along with fresh produce and dairy in an effort to support hard-hit communities in East Boston. That program expanded this week as the ICA's Education team prepared 1,200 art kits to send to @bostonschools food distribution sites in Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, Roxbury, and South Boston in time for February vacation week... Looking so good against shades of blue. 💙🌀
With her reimagined ruins of the Haitian Sans-Souci Palace, @FireleiBaez asks us to consider history, place, and our relationship to the seas and skies. Transformed into a magical and mutable space, the watershed becomes that much more expansive when viewers answer by unlocking the installation with their own sets of histories and lived experiences.

Detail of #TaraDonovan's "Nebulous" made from @Scotch tape, #NowOnView. “Like fog, it becomes so soft. It looks like it grew out of the floor," says Donovan, who transforms large quantities of ordinary, mass-produced items into sculptures and installations.
The uneven shape of "Nebulous" recalls a blown-up view of microscopic mold, or perhaps a scaled-down model of the Milky Way. The title hints at this uncertain perceptual experience created with “invisible” and “magic” tape...

CREATOR’S NOTE
This portfolio highlights much of my digital content work from my time as a Marketing Associate at the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston (ICA/Boston), where I feel some of my strongest projects came to life. As a nationally-renowned museum with expansive programming, the ICA gave me the resources to refine technical skills such as video editing, copywriting, and lifecycle campaign planning (mostly through collaboration and freedom to experiment). While I’ve also worked with other places in varying capacities, the ICA was where I truly hit my stride. I’ve included a few additional examples from grassroots organizations and student-led initiatives, though more limited in scope. Looking ahead, I’m eager to continue creating impactful work and hopefully with your team soon! 🫶
